Veuve Clicquot Bold Woman Award 2024

REWA’s Baptême des Vignes with Veuve Clicquot: Honouring Boldness in the Vineyards of Reims

In 2024, REWA was honoured with the prestigious Veuve Clicquot Bold Woman Award, a global recognition that celebrates women who exemplify boldness, creativity and innovation in their fields. For over fifty years, this award has been inspired by the legacy of Madame Clicquot, a pioneering entrepreneur who challenged convention and redefined the role of women in business.

Baptême des Vignes Ceremony

As part of this honour, REWA was invited to participate in the historic Baptême des Vignes at the Manoir de Verzy in the Champagne region of France. In this symbolic ceremony, she planted a vine in her name; a tradition reserved for those who carry forward Madame Clicquot’s bold spirit. The planted vine stands as a living testament to REWA’s enduring impact in the arts, rooted in heritage and destined to grow as part of a powerful legacy.

REWA Becomes the First African Artist to Design the Official Poster for the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival in its 62-Year History – a Collaboration Celebrating "Secrets of Africa".

Taking place annually in Tenerife, Canary Islands, the Carnival is a celebration of vibrant culture, music, dance, and art, attracting visitors from around the globe. Since its inception in 1962, the Carnival has grown in prominence and was declared a Festival of International Tourist Interest by UNESCO in 1980, further solidifying its global status.

REWA’s appointment is historic — she is the first African artist, and only the seventh woman, to be chosen for this prestigious honour. She joins a distinguished roster of past designers who have contributed their artistic vision to the Carnival’s legacy, including renowned artists such as César Manrique, Mel Ramos, and Jiří 'Georg' Dokoupil.
